While we have designed the app to assist you in creating an account for your child or children during the sign up process. If you want to add another child you can do this through the ‘Contacts’ or ‘Manage’ section. To create an account for your child through the ‘Contacts’ section of the app, select the press the plus sign with a circle around at the top right hand side, next select ‘Add My Child’ at the top of the screen. Enter the required details and then press add. You can also add a child through the ‘Manage’ section of the app. Once again you will see a plus sign with a circle around it in the top right hand side of the page, simply enter the required details and press add.
The ‘Manage’ section of the app is where you control your child’s account. Once you select manage you will see your created child/children, select the child whose password you would like to reset. Select ‘Update Child Details’ and enter the required details, please press done when this is completed.
You can add a friend in the ‘Contacts’ section. When you enter the contacts section you will see a plus sign inside a circle in the top right corner, select this symbol. You will then see ‘Add Friends’ and ‘in KodaChat Community’, please select in KodaChat community. Enter your friends name in the search window, press search. When you see them press the circle next to their name on the left hand side, then press the plus symbol at the top of the page on the right hand side. Your friend request has now been sent.
Yes, you can. Under the ‘Manage’ section, select your child. Under their Avatar press ‘Friends’ in the dark blue bar. You will see the list of friends that your child has, simply swipe left and you will see delete; press delete and the friend is removed.
The only adults that can be a friend or talk to a child are the approving parent (a mother, father or carer) or adults invited to connect through ‘Plus One’ by the parent who manages the account of the child. ‘Plus Ones’ are usually trusted adults such as a partner, grandparents, uncle or aunts. No other adult can search, befriend or talk to a child.
If you decide that you need to review the conversations your child has had with other children, select the ‘Manage’ section. Next select which of your children you would like to review the conversations for and select ‘Friends’ (located under the child’s photo and within the dark blue bar). You will see at the top of the screen ‘View Chat History’, please press on this button. You will be taken outside of the app to your web browser to access the parent’s portal. To log into the parent portal, use the same email and password that you use to log into KodaChat. Once you are logged into the parent portal, simply select which of your children you want to review messages for and the friend you would like to review messages for, next select the date you think is relevant and press search. The chat history for that period is then displayed.
Live allows kids to share photos with all of their family and friends at the one time and allows their family and friends to interact with their posts by liking them. It is not public for all users of KodaChat to see, only their approved family and friends. To turn the Live feature on select the ‘Me’ icon in the bottom tab bar, then select the settings icon located at the top right hand side of the screen. You will see ‘Manage Children’ in the menu bar, please select this and then press on the child you would like to enable the Live feature. You will see ‘Enable Koda Live’ in the menu, simply click on the sliding tab and it is now enabled.
To enable automatic approvals, select the ‘Me’ icon in the bottom tab bar and then select the settings icon located at the top right hand side of the screen. You will see ‘Manage Children’ in the menu bar, please select this and then press on the child you would like to enable automatic approvals. You will see ‘Automatic Approval’ in the menu, simply click on the sliding tab and automatic approvals are now active for all the content your child sends to others. To automatically approve other users content being sent to your child, select ‘Friends’ next to your child’s avatar. You will see all the contacts of your child, please select which friend you would like to enable the automatic approvals feature. Simply click on the sliding tab and it is now enabled. You can do this for all your child’s friends. Please note that this will mean you will not see or be able to approve the content before your child does.
